HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Preregister for the Professional Development Conference by posted deadline or register on site on January 29, 2026.
  2. Attend one concert of your own choosing.
  3. Attend six sessions of your own choosing.
  4. Electronically submit your post-conference reflection by February 23, 2026. (Required template available on the OMEA website.)
  5. Satisfactorily complete all requirements and receive, (via email), an instructional hour certificate (10 hours) from the Ohio Music Education Association.

Remember:

  • OMEA does not issue certificates of attendance.
  • Update your Individual Professional Development Plan to include the OMEA IHCP and submit the plan to your LPDC for approval prior to attending the conference.
Consider the many benefits of attending the PDC:
  • Attend relevant presentations on the latest research/trends in music education
  • Further develop your online teaching tools and expertise
  • Explore the latest innovations in music technology
  • Refresh and enhance your teaching skills
  • Network with master teachers, clinicians, colleagues and music industry leaders
  • Hear outstanding ensemble performances from across all disciplines
In need of graduate credit? Look for the Ashland credit info on the OMEA website for more details.
Please note you may earn contact hours, (IHCP), OR Ashland graduate credit but not both.
