Wooster Middle School Band Camp

We hosted our second annual middle school band camp from June 22-June 26. The camp was attended by nearly 90 middle school students with between 1 and 3 years of playing experience, with most students enrolled at Wooster City Schools, and a few participants from surrounding school districts in Wayne, Holmes, or Ashland Counties. Students met from 9:00am-12:30pm for five days, each day involving full group rehearsals, sectionals, and games. Since we had so many students, we were able to split the campers into two bands: one "beginner" band, and one "intermediate" band. Each day was assigned a theme (i.e. "America Monday" or "Wild West Wednesday"), and students could choose to dress up to match the theme. We performed a concert to showcase the students' work on the evening of Friday, June 26th. Each band performed three songs, followed by two songs all together.
