Northwest Region - United Sound

On February 7, 2025, the Perrysburg High School United Sound chapter performed alongside Perrysburg High School Select Strings at the 2025 OMEA PDC.

United Sound is a non-profit organization that helps to establish peer mentoring chapters within school orchestra or band programs for students with disabilities. These chapters can be established at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level.

In United Sound, new musicians meet with their mentors just once a week to learn how to play their instrument at a personally modified level. Aside from learning how to play an instrument, the mentors and musicians interact through many social activities at the rehearsals such as parties and games and work towards building long lasting friendships with one another.
