Devon Steve led the High School Choir, inspiring a performance marked by emotional depth and impressive vocal control. Dr. William Talley concluded the evening as the High School Band clinician, conducting a program that demonstrated the ensemble’s precision, strength, and musical maturity.
Beyond the concerts themselves, the Honors Festival provided invaluable learning opportunities for students. The chance to work with skilled and inspiring clinicians allowed participants to hone their craft and develop essential ensemble skills. Students from various schools came together, fostering camaraderie and mutual respect as they collaborated to create music at the highest level.
The success of the OMEA District 1 Honors Festival would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of countless individuals. Special thanks go to the clinicians for their expertise and mentorship, as well as to the music educators who prepared their students for this event. The Stranahan Theater provided a beautiful and acoustically rich venue for the festival, enhancing the audience’s listening experience. Lastly, the festival could not have taken place without the support of our many sponsors, Rettig Music, Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts, Heidelberg University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, Forte Music, Ohio Northern University, Owens Community College, Instrument Care Center, All Star Music, Bowling Green State University, and Tiffin University as well as countless administrators and school booster organizations.
